Buster likes bananas

Buster is taking his pills in pieces of banana now.  He was taking them inside pieces of cheese, but when I went out of town, John started feeding him bananas.  I guess it's ok.  He seems to like them.

I just got back into town.  I was in Wilkes-Barre visiting my sister and her family.  Buster stayed at home with John.  Of course as soon as I left, Buster ran upstairs and ate the dry cat food…. Then he sat at the front door acting as if he wanted to go out for a walk.  Once John got outside with him, he refused to walk.  Instead he circled the car until John took him for a ride to Wendy’s for chicken nuggets.  He’s no different than Jamie and Kate when they were little.  They did the same thing when John baby sat them.   Only back then it wasn’t chicken nuggets but Happy Meals.

Busters cyst is almost gone.  I am so happy about that.  The snow has melted enough that he can use his doggie door again.  Mama’s happy about that too!!!

Things are getting back to normal

It's been a week and Buster is doing great.  The cyst is almost gone.  He looks different with the swelling down.  With all the extra skin he has around his neck, it was hard to tell how bad it really was. 

We got over a foot of snow last night.  Because it wasn't very cold, he was so happy to pounce around in it while John and I shoveled.  Of course he had to make his rounds up and down the street saying "hi" to everyone and hoping someone would have a snack for him. 

John had his car running trying to melt the coat of ice that formed under the snow.  Buster was determined that John was going somewhere so he sat next to the car for about a half hour.  Even after we turned the car off and headed for the house, he still wanted to stay by the car, just in case someone decided to take a ride...he’s had too many happy meals lately..always ready to take a ride if it means he might get a chance to go to McDonalds

Just returned from the vet.

They drained about ¾ of a cup from the cyst and have decided to give him a stronger antibiotic plus prednisone and ice packs three times a day.  They said this could be a result of some trauma,  He had an injection for pain after knee surgery, possibly that started something.  But, they don’t recommend surgery at this time.  There’s too much going on right now with it to do anything but give it time to go down.  They also said once they drain these things, they usually come back bigger than before……UGH!!!!!

I kept his appointment for Tues just in case.

Busters cyst is growing

Unfortunately, Busters Cyst started growing again…it’s the size of a baseball now, moving down the side of his nick.  We have an appointment at the vet for next Tuesday, but I can’t wait.  I plan to walk him in tomorrow morning as an emergency.  I fear he may need surgery.  This poor little guy just can’t catch a break.  Wish us luck.
